Time for a Change

I know it’s still pretty early for me to be posting an entry, it’s about 3 hours earlier than I normally do, but I’ve got a lot to do tonight, and I want to make sure I get my journal posted.

Today was a pretty decent day. Lots of studying for work, and still lots more to come tonight. Most of my work day consisted of reading articles, and watching some educational videos online, and reading… lots of reading. I need to keep reading, and start working some of the examples out. I need to essentially become an expert in this area in the next few days.

I know it seems like I’m doing a lot of studying lately, and perhaps not generating as much actual work as people would like, but the fact is as I see it, while we would probably have made the deadline in time, I’m not sure the overall product would be as good as it could be if we just slowed down for a few days and learned more. So, that’s what I’m doing.

I’ve done a horrible job of taking care of all that I need to lately. There’s a fair amount of work involved, but really it’s not too bad. It’s just that I have some time management issues. Case in point, I probably shouldn’t have ventured in-world tonight after I got home from work. There were a few things I wanted to take care of, but I stayed on at least an hour longer than I should have. I also needed to start laundry when I got home, but I managed to misplace that task somewhere in my mind, so I’ll likely be up later to finish it.

My journal entries seem to be very short lately, and that’s something else I personally am not proud of. I know I can do better. More happens to me in a day than just a few lines, and while some of it (perhaps a lot of it) is mundane and not so important, I’m skipping large portions of the day, not just because nothing happened, but because I’ve not been taking the time to actually think through my day.

All of this said, it’s time for a change. I can do better, and I will do better.

Getting down the stuff that

Getting down the stuff that is on the top of your mind is most important. Get detailed when you can, but take care of your obligations also. I only expect a long entry when I tell you to do that.
